CX self indulgence

Collect bike Sunday....
......setup and then some quick circuits on the meadow.

and then on Monday 2 glorious hours in the Cotswold hills & mud.
Smiling at the end of the ride (tram way descent) and I even remembered to breath in :)

First thoughts:
  • The longer wheelbase gave me the confidence to ride a large stone step descent for the first time.
  • Improved handling on the muddy Birdlip single tracks.
  • Realisation that the big benefit of discs is no rim brakes to clog up and hold heavy Cotswold mud.
  • Gears as standard are OK for 'cross races but not the Cotswold hills and the Three Peaks.
3 Peaks mods needed are:

  • 36-46 chainring changed to 33-46 (TA Zephyr 33T 110 BCD)
  • 11-28 block changed to 11-32
